Features

Side Access & Axe Sleeve

A full-length zipper gives you quick access to gear anywhere in your pack.

The axe sleeve lets you grab or stash ice tools or hiking poles without taking the pack off. The axe is secured with a magnetic FIDLOCK clip.

For areas that warrant bear spray, the ice axe sleeve makes for a no bounce, secure bear spray holster.

Technical Ice Tool Carry

In addition to the quick access Ice tool/trekking pole carry, the Alpine SaC comes standard with a Hypalon pick sleeve and our standard ice tool carry hardware. This low-profile feature works great for technical tools, and it's removable for outings that don't require tools.

Standard vs Ultralight Build

In addition to our standard build that features super durable fabrics that will hold up to years of wear and tear in the alpine, we made some ultralight build packs using both Ultra 200 and XPAC UX10.

For heavy use, the standard build is worth the weight. The Ultralight build excels for packability when hiking into a camp or climb with a bigger pack, or for big outings where every ounce matters.

Expandable Collar

The roll-top is nested inside the cinch collar, making it easy to fold out of the way for daily use or expand for an extra 12L of storage on bigger outings.

In the summer, I often roll the top into the pack for quick access through the cinch collar. When the rain comes or I need extra space, I deploy the roll top.
